Increasing Awareness in Jodhan
Jodhan (Jodha) is a small but vibrant village located in Ludhiana district, that along with other local communities, is now saying no to drugs.
As part of a public event, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann explained how Jodhan joined Narangwal, Shehzada, and Kila Raipur with an anti-drug oath and subsequently an operation that ultimately raised awareness and action that the community desperately needed.
To complement enforcement, Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav added that the state’s two-pronged anti-drugs plan was to alleviate the organized supply chain while attempting to rehabilitate users. Since March, the number has included 15,000 arrests, over 600 kgs heroin seized, and 1,121 users diverted into rehab vs. being convicted. Deliberately, these larger initiatives help improve the climate that Jodhan-based recovery services utilize.
How Our Nasha Mukti Kendra in Jodhan is Making a Difference
At Nasha Mukti Kendra in Jodhan, we understand recovery is a community journey. Below is a summary of how we’re making a real difference:
Safe and Effective Medically Supervised Detox
Withdrawal is looked after medically so it happens safely and comfortably — with dignity.
Counselling & Therapy
From one-on-one to group sessions, we unpack emotional issues surrounding addiction, and teach skills on resiliency.
Relapse Prevention & Follow-Up
The ongoing, continuing care provided to clients after they leave our facility (peer group openings and check-ins) dramatically reduces relapse risk.
Holistic Approach to Health
Yoga, meditation, nutrition, and mental aspects of physical health form an important part of re-establishing healthy routines and approaches to life.
Family Participation
We work with the families of individuals undergoing rehab to help them understand how they can provide supportive care vs. enabling care.
Community Outreach and Education
Our outreach and education campaigns focus on schools, panchayats, and other local forms of community meetings in Jodhan to raise awareness and emphasize early access and intervention.
A Vision for a Drug-Free Jodhan
Jodhan has done an exemplary job of showing community spirit by working together to take the anti-drug oath; now, it needs better, affordable options for compassionate treatment.
Our centre will not replace or compete with the work being done in the state, but it will provide an adjunct community-based service — one that provides individuals with the means to rebuild their life chronologically, and for families to re-establish their power and strength.
If you or someone you know is struggling with addiction, our Nasha Mukti Kendra in Jodhan is here to assist you, provided by your community and its citizens — with dignity and hope.
