Detox Treatment
Detoxification treatment is the first phase to address the problem of substance abuse. Detox allows people to withdraw from drugs or alcohol as safely as possible in a medical setting. The process of detoxing focuses on clearing substances from the person’s body, while minimizing withdrawal symptoms.
What Is Detox?
Detox is an organized, medical process that allows individuals to stabilize while starting the process of recovery. Detox does not cure addiction, but rather gets the body and the person ready for further therapy. Detox is a critical step that allows individuals to reduce some of the immediate health risk and allows for a safe and therapeutic environment during withdrawal.
Detox Programs
The difference between programs is determined by the substance, severity of addiction, and health. Services may include medicinal assistance, nutritional support and observation 24 hours a day. Patients are recommended to enter rehabilitation programs once they have completed detoxification which will address the underlying reasons for their addiction-related behavior, including psychological factors.
